Police investigating the theft of a car from a garage in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, are appealing for witnesses and information.
On October 15 the red Ford Mustang, registration mark VTM 648S, was found to have been stolen after the garage it was stored in was checked by relatives of the owner, who passed away in August.
It was last confirmed to have been in the garage in Sloansway in 1995 and could have been stolen any time between then and October 15.
Detective Constable Geoff Smith is investigating the theft and said: “The owner of the vehicle was hugely proud of the car and it has a large amount of sentimentally attached to it.
“Obviously the car is very distinctive and, despite the length of time in which it could have been stolen during, I believe anyone who witnessed the car being removed from the garage would remember seeing it.
I would like to speak with anyone with information about this theft as soon as possible. Equally, I would like to hear from anyone who has seen the car or been offered it for sale.”
Anyone with any information about the theft should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary.

"The owner of the vehicle was hugely proud of the car..."
Really? Why?
That proud of it that the car sat in a garage for 20 years without anyone even looking at it?!
