Man rescued by firefighters after falling asleep in toilets of Police Club

Firefighters had to force their way into Greenock Police Club to rescue a man who fell asleep in there overnight.

He woke up early on Saturday morning in a toilet cubicle, and realised that the event he had been attending the night before was long finished and everyone else had gone home.

The man, who has not been named, then automatically set off the alarms when he walked out of the toilet to try to escape from the deserted premises in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland.

He called the fire brigade for help, and they forced their way into the club at 7am. A fire brigade spokesman said: "He'd had a good sleep, and was none the worse for his experience."
