Police look into mystery ten-foot-deep hole that has appeared in car park

A mystery‘ten-foot-deep’ hole has appeared in Manchester city centre.

The hole was spotted on the Tib Street NCP car park in the Northern Quarter early on Tuesday morning.

It has been reported to be two feet wide and is so deep the sewers beneath are visible from street level. City centre’s GMP tweeted about the road collapse. “NQ sinkhole?

“10 foot deep hole appears overnight on Church Street. We’re looking into it...” The area in the car park, which covers two car parking spaces, has been cordoned off with tape and a traffic cone has been placed upside down into the hole. It is not clear if this has been done by Manchester council.
