Teenage girl hospitalised after being shot by man who took a real gun to a water gun fight

A 15-year-old girl was taken to hospital on Saturday after deputy constables said a 40-year-old man shot her at a family barbecue in Spring, Texas. “It was crazy, like you would never expect somebody to bring a gun to a barbecue, or a family gathering at all,” said neighbour Micah Stewart.

Chairs sat in front of the home on Saturday night, with water guns nearby. “We come around here to get home and there's two people playing, like they're having a water gun fight,” said neighbour Rasheed Seals. But deputy constables said somehow a real gun got into the mix.

“The man went over there to his car to get his dry clothes and he must have had the gun so he started playing with it and tried to do this and I thought he probably had it on safety and he accidentally shot the girl in her collar bone area,” said Stewart. They said that 40-year-old man shot a 15-year-old girl in her shoulder, an inch from her neck.

“Cy Creek EMS arrived on scene, tended to the female who is reported to be in stable condition,” said Lt. Daniel Garza with Harris County Constable Precinct 4. A stray bullet hit a car about five houses away. “Don't play with guns, not the right choice,” added Seals. Deputy constables questioned the 40-year-old. There is no word as to whether he'll face charges. The girl is expected to recover.

A question about if he'll face charges? WTF, I should hope so.

xoxoxoBruce, it's Texas, probably the most gun-crazy state in the U.S. I really doubt he'll face a penalty.

As I've posted elsewhere, this is an example of "malignant stupidity." He probably had the gun around to protect everyone from the neighborhood Democrat.
