Sleeping trespasser arrested despite leaving note advising homeowner not to be scared

A courtesy note letting a woman know that she had nothing to fear when she saw a strange man sleeping on her sofa apparently failed to quell her concerns.

Police said a 32-year-old woman who lives in Safe Harbor village in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, arrived home from work on June 21 to find a handwritten note on her door. The note read “Don’t be scared when you come in, Bob is here.”

She entered the home and found Robert Sheets, 28, asleep on the sofa. Responding officers were able to wake Sheets after several attempts, police said. Sheets, of Holtwood, Pennsylvania, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of several prescription pills not prescribed to him, Southern Lancaster County Regional police said.

Police found the victim’s boyfriend knows Sheets, but not that well. He had not spoken to him for some time, does not know how Sheets found out where he lives, and never gave him permission to be on the property. Sheets was charged with criminal trespass and possession of a controlled substance. He was placed in Lancaster County Prison on $20,000 bail.

Looks like "one Sheets to the wind" was sufficient here.

BTW, here's an explanation of the "three sheets to the wind" phrase:
