Pseudobulbar affect is a condition characterized by episodes of uncontrollable laughing and/or crying that may be inappropriate or unrelated to the situation at hand. The condition is known by many other terms, including emotional lability, emotional incontinence, emotional discontrol, excessive emotionalism, uncontrollable laughing and/or crying, and pathological laughing and/or crying.
