Top of the morning to you

The move went well thanks. The money went through quickly and I had the keys just after lunchtime.

Considering the stink the woman selling this house caused last Friday, it amuses me that the house was left in the sort of state people usually leave properties when they do a runner from rented accommodation. It anything was screwed down, it's gone, then there are other quite valuable things left all over the place.

A cupboard full of booze in the kitchen, a shed full of gardening equipment including lawnmower, strimmer, spades, forks, rakes etc. and a set of golf clubs and the garage contains no end of what appears to be antique pine furniture and electric appliances that I need to investigate further.

With the benefit of hindsight and after talking with the woman's estate agent yesterday when I picked up the keys, the common consensus is that she is as mad as bat shit.

Anyway, the heating works, I think the oven works, but it's an electric fan convector thing and there are no destructions, more by luck than judgement I have more TV stations than I knew existed and I have the slowest dial-up connection, ever.

But a connection none the less.

At the moment my computer is propped up on a picnic table next to the only working telephone point in the house, (one telephone point is more than six foot up on a wall, but it doesn't work anyway) and I can only fit either the keyboard or the mouse on it one at a time, so it's not exactly user friendly.

But, my important task of the day is the build my new computer desk and executive chair. That's going to be fun!

So after more typing than I think I've ever done here before, I shall away until tomorrow, I really haven't had the chance to look at anything interweb.

The only other thing I have to say is IT IS SO QUIET HERE!! No barking dogs, no idiot neighbours banging around from 6am. Peace. At last.
