Shoe thief leaves victim money

A man has stolen a pair of shoes and then left his victim money during an armed robbery in Melbourne's central business district.

A 20-year-old Docklands man was using a public phone when he was approached by another man who asked him for his trainers.

After the Docklands man repeatedly refused to hand over his shoes, the second man produced a knife and forced him to take the trainers off.

The thief then left behind his own shoes and $50 in the phone box before running off.
