Germans building world's largest chocolate cuckoo clock

The world's largest chocolate cuckoo clock was nearing completion in the central German town of Gernrode in the Harz Mountains, its builders said.

The Halloren Chocolate Factory, the oldest in Germany, and the Harz Clock Factory said they hoped to put the finishing touches over the weekend to the 2.8-meter (nine-foot, two-inch) tall clock with a wooden frame and casing made of 120 kilos (265 pounds) of pure chocolate.

The giant clock is to be sold off in pieces for charity at a festival.
