Arm-wrestling decided licence

An elderly woman was denied a renewed drivers licence after she lost to her doctor in arm wrestling.

The 79-year-old woman from Østre Toten in Oppland County was shocked by the routine she was put through when she applied for a check-up to clear her for a new drivers licence, a procedure she had successfully completed eight times earlier.

"First he asked me who the prime minister of Denmark was. Then I said that I wasn't interested in politics and I didn't know, So he asked me if I knew who the prime minister of Sweden was, and I gave him the same answer."

The already shocked woman was then asked who won the football World Cup and what the speed limits were on gravel roads and highways.

"The only football team I follow a bit is the one my grandchild plays for. And I said that I had to drive according to the signs for speed limits," the woman said.

Finally the doctor decided to test the woman's physical condition and said she had to arm wrestle him. The doctor won with both his right and left arm and denied her a renewed licence.
