A Holyoke man is recovering from a stab wound he suffered during a violent domestic dispute, but he is the one under arrest. Police said that Yesenia Ortiz was badly beaten by Victor Cruz Sunday night in their apartment on South Summer Street in Holyoke.
When officers arrived on the scene they saw visible bruises and a bloody lip on the woman. Holyoke Police Chief Anthony Scott described what happened when Ortiz tried to defend herself. “She grabbed another knife and stabbed him in the winky and at that time he decided it was time to leave.”
Holyoke Police arrested Cruz outside the apartment building and took him to Holyoke Medical Center. Cruz had two other outstanding warrants and was charged with assault and battery. He is still at the hospital recovering from his wound.
