House becomes crash pad

Two cars stand battered outside a cottage after crashing in in the same spot just hours apart.

The Ford Mondeo ploughed into the house at 6.30am on Thursday.

Seven hours later engineers were still clearing the debris when a Toyota people carrier came skidding in.

Ann Burgess, 60, who lives in the cottage on the A12 near East Bergholt, Suffolk, with husband Bill, 67, said: “In 21 years, it has not happened before. I can’t believe it has happened twice in a day.”
