BBC staff in bad-taste Middle East spoof video

The BBC has come under fire for allowing its senior journalists to make a spoof video which makes fun of war in the Middle East.

The film - based on Peter Kay's (Is this the way to) Amarillo? - was made to mark the departure of BBC news editor Simon Torkington for rival news channel Al-Jazeera.

Renamed (Is this the way to) Al-Jazeera? it features BBC staff singing and dancing in front of images of missiles being fired and tanks rolling across the Arabian desert.

It also contains crass Arab stereotypes and makes joking reference to Osama Bin Laden, the PaIestinian conflict.

You can see the video here. Link goes to wmv file.

It's good to see people's licence fees being spent so wisely.
