Gormley's latest work under fire

The creator of The Angel of the North is in the final stages of his latest work, a 25m (82ft) sculpture made entirely from recycled materials. Antony Gormley enlisted the help of local people to create the structure above Dreamland Fun Fair in Margate, Kent. Volunteers spent two months collecting and sorting materials for the project before climbing up the huge framework to pack it.

Waste Man

The artwork, entitled Waste Man, will will be set alight later today as part of a day of filmed live performances in Margate called Exodus Day.
