Woman's arm severed in murder bid

A young woman's arm has been severed after she was thrown from a car by a man who had picked her up in Glasgow.

The 29-year-old was found wandering on the M8, near Paisley, with part of her arm missing on Sunday at 0150 BST.

Her arm was found nearby and the woman was taken to hospital where attempts to reattach it failed.

Police are treating the incident as attempted murder. The woman was picked up at about midnight in the red light area of the city.
