For 31 years of married life, Ian Gammons prided himself on being the man of the house. But after his wife Lynda donated one of her kidneys to the rugbyloving 51-year-old, it appears that he is becoming more and more like her.
Before the transplant Mr Gammons hated cooking, shopping and gardening. Now he is rarely happier than when baking a trayful of scones, wandering around the stores looking for bargains or mowing the lawn. He has even begun to share his wife's love of dogs, an animal he previously despised.
Mr Gammons appears to be the latest example of a phenomenon which is intriguing some medical experts - that it is possible to inherit character traits from an organ transplant donor.
The transformation happened after he became seriously ill with Nephrotic Syndrome, a kidney disorder.
