A driver has allegedly threatened police with a live snake he grabbed off the road after he was pulled over by officers in Darwin.
Two constables at Marrara allegedly pulled a car over and gave the driver a breath test, which registered 0.131.
They then questioned the man, who ran onto the road and allegedly picked up a live snake.
“The driver allegedly armed himself with a live snake, pointed the head of the reptile at them and threatened them,” police said in a statement.
The officers told the man to drop the snake, but he ran into bushland still carrying it.
