Dog allegedly used as weapon in heist

Durham Regional Police are looking for two young bandits who allegedly used a dog to rob a man on an Oshawa street.

Cops said a 56-year-old man went to the A&P store at the Rossland Square Plaza on Rossland Rd. at 5 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10.

When the man left the plaza, two males followed him north on Wilson Rd. to about halfway between Rossland and Beatrice St. E.

One of the males suddenly tackled the man, threw him to the ground, and threatened him. The other male, holding his dog back, then threatened to have the dog attack if the man didn’t hand over his cash.

Police said both suspects were both white, 5-foot-4 and between 17 and 23 years old. The breed of the dog was unknown.
