My Mum would like to thank you all for your good wishes

And prayers.

When I visited her yesterday she was looking so much better than she has for weeks. She had looked so pale before, with big black rings around her eyes, but once again she had some colour in her cheeks.

That's probably because she had been misprescribed drugs to treat high blood pressure when she had in fact been extremely anaemic. I think the blood transfusion had helped somewhat too.

One of her arms is a mass of bruises, as apparently it had taken a nurse and then a doctor over an hour to find a vein in order to extract some blood when she'd first been admitted to hospital. She really had been very ill.

When she had her 'funny turn', the doctors think it damaged her heart in some way, and they want to shove a camera down her , I believe the technical term is endoscopy, to find the cause of the anaemia, but can't do so until they're happy her heart is okay, so she'll remain in hospital for a couple more days at least. She was moved onto a heart ward late on Christmas Eve.

While I was there one of my cousins and her two little angels appeared, which brightened the ward up for a while. And then Santa paid a visit. And guess what? Santa has a Welsh accent!

So I'd once again like to thank you for all your good wishes and thoughts. It's been really important for my Mum. As and when I get more news I'll include brief updates.

I'd also like to thank all the staff at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Normal service will resume a bit later on today.
