A paperboy told yesterday how he and a pal rescued a two-year-old boy they found crawling down a road at 6am.
Daniel Maul and Matthew Sullivan, both 14, had to kick away a snarling fox before picking up the tot and rushing to call for help.
The freezing infant, who was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt and nappy, was more than a quarter of a mile from his home, having already crawled down the staircase of his mum’s first-floor flat.
It was thought he may have been out in the cold for more than four hours.
Last night his 27-year-old mother, Paula Raeburn, was arrested on suspicion of neglect.
