Giant porridge bowl breaks record

The world's biggest bowl of porridge has been cooked in Warwickshire to highlight the benefits of breakfast.

The giant vat at the National Farmers' Union (NFU) headquarters in Stoneleigh weighed in at 66.26kg (146lb)), local trading standards officers said.

It was served up by farmers and members of the Territorial Army to promote UK farming and encourage more people to eat a healthy breakfast.

Pupils from the nearby Crackley Hall school in Kenilworth helped polish off the porridge.
