Married father-of-one Michael Pearson also threw away some of the mail in a bid to shorten his delivery round and "reduced the risk of confrontation" with teenage gangs plaguing the estate.

The 43-year-old, who appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates Court wearing a dress, high heels and matching pink lipstick and nail varnish, admitted hoarding 234 packages and dumping 29 others in a supermarket car park.
After hearing about problems with his sexuality, magistrates spared him prison, sentencing him to a four-month suspended jail term as well as 150 hours community work. He was also ordered to pay £300 towards costs of the inquiry.
Pearson, who is on an NHS waiting list for a sex change operation, wore a unisex uniform at work and kept his cross-dressing a secret from colleagues.
