Driver rap over low cloud

Motorist Wayne Playfair got a £30 ticket for dangerous driving — through a low cloud.

Wayne, 27, was nicked for not putting on his headlights when he hit the tiny patch 1,500ft up on the Pennines on a clear day.

A cop told him at Woodhead Pass: “You should have been watching out for the cloud.”

South Yorks Police said: “The weather can change mile by mile. Motorists must use lights and wipers when circumstances dictate.”
