Goji berries are facing EU ban

A superfruit that is said to boost your sex life and fight cellulite could be banned under EU food safety rules.

Goji berries - dubbed the "natural Viagra" - are packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

Britain's Food Standards Agency say there is no evidence the goji berries pose a threat to public health. But under EU laws, the berries have to go through a series of tests proving they are safe to eat before they are allowed to go on sale.
This could take up to two years and, in the meantime, the fruit will have to be labelled as "novel food", ranking alongside GM crops and cloned meat.

Industry experts branded the move "barmy".
