Grave advice from council

A grieving man was told to sprinkle curry powder over his wife’s grave by his council after complaining that animals were eating the flowers he laid there.

Leonard Price, 85, was advised the best way to see off the nuisance squirrels and deer at Haycombe Cemetery, Bath, was with a blast of hot Indian food.

Sprinkling washing up liquid over his wife Betty’s grave was also suggested as a good way of giving the hungry animals a nasty shock by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

But the pensioner was less than impressed by the bizarre advice and accused the council of being insensitive.

“Betty wasn’t keen on curry. She would’ve been totally against it,” he said.
