Husband cut nose off his wife

A woman told yesterday how her jealous husband hacked off her nose so no other man would find her attractive.

Brutal Geoffrey Rookes, 57, butchered wife Sue’s face with an eight-inch kitchen knife, wrongly thinking she was a love cheat.



He left her nose hanging by a small piece of flesh, carved off her right cheek and slashed her left cheek from mouth to ear.

The brute also broke her ribs and cut into her liver. She had nearly 100 stitches and is scarred for life.

Rookes was jailed for five years. As he was jailed at Truro Crown Court, Rookes mouthed “I’m sorry” to his wife.
