There's love on the horizon ... you can read it in the trees

At first glance, the scene is no more than a typically picturesque view across the Firth of Forth.

But take a closer look and it is clear the trees in Fife are spelling out a secret message to anyone gazing across from Edinburgh: LOVE.

LOVE

The natural phenomenon - which can be made out from the sea front between Granton and Leith - was spotted by Lothian and Borders Police civilian worker Grant Cunningham.

However, one tree expert suggested nature may have been given a helping hand.

Johnny Trotter, operations director for Dobbies Garden Centres, said: "The trees spelling out LOVE are out of the growth span of the other trees around them. It is unlikely this would happen naturally."
