Wanted posters have been put up to catch dog-owners accused of not cleaning up their pooches’ mess.
Council chiefs made the move after dog wardens saw two owners who allegedly allowed their dogs to foul a children’s play area.
The pair then made off before they could be issued with a fine, said District of Easington council, in North Yorkshire.
Posters have been put up on lampposts and council bosses say that if they hand themselves in they will only be issued with a £50 spot fine.
Should the owners stay on the run they will be handed a court summons when wardens catch up with them and could face a fine of up to £1,000.
