On a visit to a London sports centre with Culture Minister Tessa Jowell, to promote the 2012 London Olympics, now with a ludicrous budget of £9.3bn, Prime Minister Tony Blair found a tennis net in his path.
Rather than take the long way round, he proceeded to squeeze himself over the top - saving time but rather losing his dignity.
As the assembled youths looked on in amazement - and Mrs Jowell in horror - he heaved the first of his 53-year-old legs across the net.
Then, after a moment's rest, he managed to swing the other over too.
