Air racing in the skies of Rio

The world’s top race pilots have landed in Rio de Janeiro for the second leg of the Red Bull Air Race Word Series.

The race takes place today over Botafuogo Bay between two world famous landmarks – Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Christ statue on Corcovado hill.

In the race, pilots must navigate through a slalom course made of air-filled pylons, or air gates, at speeds reaching 400 km/h and hitting up to 10 g.
