A police officer was quick to take refuge behind a wall yesterday after being confronted by a bemused bullock.
The leafy Manchester suburb of Chorlton was more reminiscent of Pamplona (on a quiet day) when eight bulls escaped from a transporter truck.
Stunned residents looked on as the cattle charged down village streets and strolled through gardens. Six of the animals were quickly rounded up by the farmer, but two calves were loose for four hours.
