Meet Alex, the toddler who will never grow up

Alex Connerty is not a typical 23-month-old. He is the only primordial dwarf in the UK and is destined to spend his adult life standing less than 3ft tall.

Alex, from Maghull, is only 2ft 4in, weighs less than a stone and wears clothes designed for six-month-olds.

His mother Sue, 36, said: "Our son will walk with giants for the rest of his life but to us he is a titan, and already people stand in his shadow - his family among them."



Doctors know very little about his condition - the only certainty is that Alex will die prematurely without expert intervention.

His family have launched the Walking with Giants fundraising campaign - in an attempt to send him to America to meet the world's leading dwarf expert.

Dr Charles Scott is based the USA and is internationally acknowledged as the world expert on the subject. He could hold the key to giving Alex a decent quality of life.
