Redcoats with a difference to keep motorists entertained

A farmer has painted his sheep red in an attempt to brighten the mood of drivers on the busiest motorway in Scotland. Andrew Jack spray-painted his flock of 54 sheep on the hills between junctions three and four of the M8 in West Lothian.

“They are causing quite a stir with passers-by. It is a bit of fun and it does brighten things up. It was a bit messy and it really did take a while, but they look fantastic,” Mr Jack said.

“We used a sheep spray but it was totally animal-friendly and would not do them any harm. We will leave them like that until it is time to shear their coats off.”

Business leaders came up with the idea in an attempt to keep their workers amused while on the motorway, which links Glasgow and Edinburgh.
