'Urban golf' founder dies after fall

The pioneer of 'urban golf' across the streets of London has died at the age of 34.
Jeremy Feakes, who invited golfers from across the globe to compete in the East End, died of head injuries after a fall onto concrete at his studio in Hoxton.

He had been planning to launch 'urban golf' worldwide, after the success of his annual Shoreditch Urban Open in London.

The event challenged golfers to tee off across roads and pavements, with flags marking holes in the road.

Shortly before his death, he had won an Urban Golf tournament in Siena, Italy, and arranged for franchises in Hong Kong, Canada and Venezuela.

The next Urban Open in London will go ahead in his honour on June 21, Mr Feakes' birthday, friends said.
