Bare belly photo girls accused of stealing papers

A group of girls at Framingham State College were photographed at a lacrosse game with bare bellies. Apparently two of them didn't like the photo, so they allegedly stole some of the campus newspapers, hoping no one would see the picture.

It backfired.

Now that photo is on the front page of the MetroWest Daily News and it's circulating the internet.

The photo ran in the April 27 edition of The Gatepost. The seven girls had written "I (heart symbol) N-O-O-N-A-N on their bare bellies as they stood at the top of the bleachers to show their support for a player on the woman's lacrosse team during a recent game.

Once the paper was published about 150 copies were stolen, a college spokesman said Thursday morning. It was originally reported that nearly 1,000 copies were taken.

Desmond McCarthy, an English professor and the paper's faculty adviser, says he was told by other students that the women thought they looked fat.
