The BBC drips a clanger

The BBC was accused of taking the pee yesterday — by broadcasting the sound of a woman going for a wee.

Radio show host Alison Butterworth was using a portable device that lets females go standing-up.

But she left her microphone on during the test of the She-Wee gadget in a gent’s urinal.

A BBC Radio Lancashire producer in the Preston studio exclaimed: “Oh no, turn that off — we’ll lose our jobs.”

Alison apologised. But listener Colin Winter, 56, said: “It was in bad taste.” The BBC admitted: “It was over the top.”
