Chicago pulls racy billboard encouraging divorce

A pair of lawyers in Chicago have offered up a whole new way of looking at divorce.

Last week, the attorneys posted a racy billboard in downtown Chicago that proclaiming "Life's short. Get a divorce". A week later, city officials have pulled the ad after it drew scores of complaints from neighbors and other attorneys who said it reflected poorly on their profession.

Bookended by pictures of a partially clothed man and woman, the ad offered the services of lawyers Corri Fetman and Kelly Garland.

Life's short. Get a divorce

City officials said their decision to jettison the sign had nothing to do with the tan and sculpted torsos or the salacious message sandwiched between them.

"I called the building inspector and told him to do his job and he did," said Alderman Burton Natarus. "It has nothing to do with content or anything else. They did not have a permit and they were ordered to take it down."

Despite its brief run, the sign has been good for business. Since it was posted last week, the two women said calls to their law firm have gone up dramatically.
