Man accused of paying to jab young girls' buttocks

A Staten Island man was arrested after police say he paid underage girls thousands of dollars to let him prick their buttocks with sharp objects as part of a sexual fetish of his.

Frank Ranieri, 25, faces seven years in prison after police tell CBS 2 HD that he paid at least three girls between the ages of 15 and 17 $500 an hour to indulge in the obscure act known as "piquerism", a sexual fixation on penetrating the body with sharp objects, such as pins or nails, and in Rainieri's case, a pen.

"Mr. Ranieri had punctured the skin of the hind buttocks area of young teenage girls who are high school age with pens and pins," Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan said.

Donovan said one of the girls had allegedly been paid $6,000 by Ranieri. Police were notified when her friend decided to give them a call.

As if the story couldn't be any more bizarre, the victim was allegedly told an even stranger story when Ranieri asked her to take part in the fetish.

"The first victim was a young lady who was going to take over Mr. Ranieri's paper route, and he convinced this young lady that he had to be sure she wasn't allergic to the ink from the newspapers," Donovan said. "And the test to prove she wasn't allergic to the ink would be allowing him to puncture her buttocks with a ballpoint pen."

Ranieri's attorney Vincent Martinelli claims that there's another side to the story, however. Though he declined to be interviewed, he does say his client was the victim of an extortion attempt.
