Two men were charged with disturbing a dolphin that has become a popular tourist attraction in the English Channel, police said.
Michael Jukes, 26, and Daniel Buck, 25, were arrested after police received complaints about alleged cruelty to "Dave" the dolphin off Sandgate, Folkestone, Kent.
The dolphin has become a well-known local visitor attraction off the coast over the past year.
Kent Police said that pipe fitter Jukes, of Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, and ground worker Buck, of Church Road, Folkestone, were charged under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 after being held at about 5.30am.
They were freed on unconditional bail to appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on June 14, a police spokesman said.
