World's smallest horse tours US

A dwarf miniature horse is touring across the US raising money for children's charities.

Thumbelina, the world's smallest horse, is fully grown at five years and stands at just 44 centimetres tall, making her no bigger than an average Alsatian dog.

She was born on a ranch where miniature horses are bred, but extraordinarily she was born with dwarfism.

"Thumbelina was a fluke, actually, we didn't breed for this. She is a dwarf mini and so she is about seventeen and half inches tall and according to Guinness she is the smallest horse in history," Michael Goessling, Thumbelina's owner, said.
