Animals injured during break-in

A deer was slashed with a craft knife and otters were beaten with sticks during a break-in at a wildlife centre in Dundee.

Keepers discovered the wounded and shocked animals at Camperdown Wildlife Park when they arrived for work on Tuesday morning.

Keepers said a female snowy owl was so shaken that it ate its own chicks.

It is still unknown what damage has been done to other animals as they are too distressed to approach.
