Bride in court after assaulting groom with stilleto on wedding day

A bride arrested on her wedding day for fighting with her husband while still in her dress has been fined by a court.

Teresa Brown, 33, attacked Mark Allerton, 40, in Aberdeen after they married at Ardverikie.

She hit him with a stiletto heel at the Hilton Treetops Hotel and was detained still wearing her dress by police.



The bride admitted assault at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and was fined £250. The couple are still together.

Brown's solicitor Stuart Beveridge blamed his client's behaviour on her mental state at the time, as she had been drinking while on anti-depressants.

However, he pointed out that she was still married and had offered to pay for the damage to the hotel - estimated at £500.
