'Sacred' Shambo faces slaughter - Update

More than a hundred protesters are staging a religious ceremony at a Hindu temple ahead of a "sacred" bullock being taken away for slaughter.

Assembly government inspectors arrived at the Skanda Vale community in west Wales to collect Shambo at 0945 BST.

Temple monks were originally told he would be collected at 0800 BST, and begun their protest beforehand.

Apparently an Indian charity has offered to take Shambo, but this has been refused by the authorities.

As I post this, officials from Defra have appeared at the temple. And now they've gone away again. No doubt they'll return.

Live update here.
