Tank joyrider given driving ban

A civilian who was filmed as he drove a tank over a car at an army barracks, has been banned from driving.

Jack Carroll, 22, from Anfield, Merseyside, admitted taking the 25-tonne Warrior tank without consent.

A soldier captured the incident on a mobile phone at Bourlon barracks at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire, and it was posted on the internet.

Carroll was banned from driving for a year and was given community service by Northallerton magistrates.
