Loud flusher faces eviction

Sitting tenant John Grimmer claims he has been threatened with eviction because his toilet is too loud.

Every time John, 59, flushes the loo his neighbours think they are next to Niagara Falls.

The ex-security guard has pleaded with his landlords to sort out the problem. But he says they have warned him that if he continues to flush the toilet he will be thrown out for "noise nuisance".

John, who lives in a block of flats in Lewisham, South London, said: "I've had four heart attacks and I don't need any more stress."

"My toilet sounds like a 20ft waterfall. It is very loud indeed. All they need to do is replace the flush for a softer one, or soundproof the walls properly."

Landlords L&Q Housing said: "Mr Grimmer was written to following complaints of noise nuisance. He's been advised of the implications to his tenancy."
