Robbery suspect last seen with mop on his head

A man wearing a mop on his head for a disguise attempted to rob the Chevron Gas Station at 8800 Corkscrew Road in Estero at around 10 p.m. Sunday night, but left empty-handed with his unusual headwear still affixed to the crown of his head.

The clerk working at the time said a white male, approximately 20 to 25 years of age, entered the gas station and demanded money from the cash register. When the clerk didn’t immediately comply, the mop-topped intruder struck the register and repeated his demand for money.

The clerk then walked around the counter to confront the suspect, receiving a shove from the uniquely disguised man before the suspect fled the store.
