Shop ram-raider wore dinner jacket and buttonhole

A Swansea man who committed a ram-raid wearing a dinner jacket told the police: "If you are going to do it, do it in style". The well-dressed crook, and two others, stole thousands of pounds of clothing from a shop yards from Swansea's central police station.

Anthony Davies and two city accomplices were arrested following a high-speed chase after a Mitsubishi Shogun was driven through the window of a store.

They stole clothing worth £6,500 - and £50,000 worth of other stock was left "glass-contaminated''.

All three defendants were caught soon afterwards and Davies was found to be wearing a dinner jacket with a flower in its buttonhole. All the stolen clothing was recovered. Davies was jailed for 28 months.
