The burnt remains of an animal have been found inside a microwave oven at a village youth club attacked by vandals.
The animal, possibly a small kitten or squirrel, was found by the caretaker at Tongwynlais youth club in Cardiff.
Local councillor Linda Morgan said she was "heartbroken" and the vandalism, which included excrement being smeared on the floor, was "an all-time low".
A South Wales Police spokeswoman said it was unclear whether the animal was alive when it was put in the microwave and investigations were ongoing.
