Man Tasered breaking into his own home found guilty of avoiding arrest

An Omaha man was sentenced to jail for trying to access his own home, his attorney said.

Shawn Manrose, 27, said Douglas County deputies used a Taser gun on him on April 16 when he failed to identify himself and became confrontational. Deputies were responding to a burglary call at Manrose's west Omaha home.

Manrose's attorney, James Martin Davis, said his client tried to tell deputies that he lived at the home and there was no burglary. Davis said deputies wouldn't listen.

Manrose was sentenced on Wednesday afternoon to spend a week in jail on charges of obstruction and resisting arrest.
