'Little miracle' of the baby born dead

A five-week-old child whose heart stopped before he was born has been dubbed a “miracle baby” by his mother after doctors brought him back to life.

It took doctors eight minutes to resuscitate Oscar Rose when he was born with no vital signs.

After being transferred to intensive care at York Hospital for nine days, he appears to have recovered with none of the severe consequences that staff had been predicting.

His mother, Lucy Allen and her partner, Stephen Rose, were told to expect some brain damage and that Oscar would probably have cerebral palsy. But after an MRI scan had been carried out, the parents found that the results were normal. Ms Allen said: Even the consultants couldn’t believe it. He’s our miracle baby.”
